No Need for Lean Foods

I continue to educate and inform my clients, friends, family and strangers about the importance of balancing macro nutrients ("good" carbs, fats and proteins) in every meal. I have recently blogged about the importance of fats (time released energy and essential fatty acids) and encourage people to increase their consumption. This can be challenging given peoples misguided perception about fat being the culprit when gaining weight.
I was extremely excited to see one blogger who is like every other American, eating what we call "lean" foods (not a lot of saturated fat), read a few articles and discover the benefits of consuming saturated fats . Here name is Meg and her blog is called Harmonious Belly. Her discovery can be viewed at "The Heat, Energy Levels and Saturated Fat". She also went on to blog about eating coconut oil and butter. I felt it was necessary to share stories from everyday people who are not in the fitness industry that have perceived or been taught fat is the enemy. I enjoyed reading Meg's blogs and the changes she's made in her diet to live a balanced, happy and healthy life. She doesn't detail her move from a limited diet to a dedicated OMNIVORE, but I hope to encourage her to write about this.
